I was wondering if anyone knew if XBox live worked with the LinkSys wireless router WRT54G.

    Thanks

I've just ordered the wi-fi with 4-port router from linksys (BEFW11S4) its the one recommended by NTL and I'll be plugging that ino my xbox when I get wired up on Saturday (next week not tomorrow)

the 54g looks the same just the uprated 802.11g version

I'll find out of it works :) next week

Thanks, but I've read the blurp on the XBox site (and done a quick search on the net). I was planning on getting the BEFW11S4, but I saw the WRT54G.

As you say graham, it looks basically same but with the upgraded protocol, which would give 54mbs (or whatever the measurement is). :D This would be much better for the computers on the network, but the few things I have read about it seem to suggest that it's not perfect in it's compatibilty. So I was wondering if anyone had any experience of this router in particular with the XBox.

If not, I reckon I'll stick to the BEFW11S4, to be on the safe side.

54M wireless Lan products are offered based on their compatibility with 11meg.

Why not see if the place you are thinking of buying from will replace it with the 11m product if you have any compatibilities with xbox.

Either way, you are right, 11Meg should be sufficient for most home networking
