Wireless network testing/analysis tool?

I'm in the process of upgrading and tweaking my home network, mostly wireless. Also do the same for a friend and the network at work.

I could really do with an app for testing throughput, signal strength etc.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

 

In general ... You'll need to jailbreak first

WiFiFoFum is an app I found really useful, used to be on the AppStore then policy changed
Now available but for jailbreak only

 

Apple don't allow Apps of this nature into the App Store. That's the reason why you need to JB.

 

I used Wireshark,that showed me all i needed to know,my brother,who works for UBS,in the networking team,use it all the time apparantly,to me its confusing,but it does let you see whats going on,and where its going to.

 

That's for testing my Internet speed. I'm looking for a tool to test my LAN's throughout etc.

 

I use "WiFi Analyzer" from Cydia.
