I am just setting up a home cinema and thinking of driving the projector from a PC in the room above, partly because there is no room for it downstairs and partly because it sounds like a 747 taking off. To simplify control, I would like to use a wireless mouse which would operate in either room. Does anyone know which has the best range. 2m would be borderline, 3m should be OK if the signal isn't too attenuated by the floor/ceiling.

The Gyration seems to be the best where range is concerned.

You could also look at some of the new Bluetooth wireless mice coming onto the market.
We have just bought a Microsoft one at work and first impressions seem to be very good. The signal is able to pass through walls without too much trouble.
