    Hi,
I need a wireless mouse/keyboard.Seems loads of types out there, and these forums seem to recommend options well above my budget.I am looking to spend £30-40 max.Needs to be 3-4m from pc and i will use it for gaming but not a hardcore gamer.
I did try one off a mate which was rf and he couldnt get it to work as the reciever was constantly picking up signals and flashing which is exactly what happened when i tried it,even with new batteries and from 2 ft away!It might have been duff but a little put off rf types.
Any ideas on my options as loads for sale on ermm eb*y and wouldnt want to buy a 2nd hand pile of trash.
Also what options are there for charging these as it seems these eat batteries etc.
    Thanks,
    Gav

i got the microsoft wireless keyboard/mouse box set for £50 last year it should have gone down a bit since then and works a charm. Can type from upstairs in my house to the downstairs pc. Pointless but the feautures there. Only fault with wireless mice is when it decides to run out during a round on counter strike and your left using the keyboard to hide in a corner

Is there more than one type of microsoft key/mouse as see them on eb*y often or a specific one you use?

I've got one of the older logitech cordless keyboard/mouse packs and it works fine from around that distance so I presume they've only improved things since then.

The microsoft one ver 3 i gather, anyone know the range on that?
Also there doesn't seem to be a charging cradle with that but battery life estimated at 6 months.Anyone confirm this from normal usage as wont bother with one that has charging cradle if so.
Have looked on microsofts website by the way,so not being idle.....

    Hmm...not happy!
Bought the lx700 from pc world.Might be a waste of £50.
Set it up and only seems to work from 2m or less.Delved into the problems website of logitech and this states the range must be 2m or less?
Before i bought i tried to find if the range was ok but couldnt find the right pages for that info so just went on the peoples advice in this forum.
Tried the connect buttons etc, tried moving docking pod/sensor away from elect items etc but the mouse and keyboard stop functioning from around 6ft away. Charged the mouse right up as well.Any ideas?

If you want a good combo get the logitech Dinovo cordless desktop for notebooks, and get the logitech G7 laser mouse, as the mouse with the desktop set is pretty crappy, but great combination, and great range....

You got a lot on usb? Just tried someone I know who bought that deal and it works no problems in the next room......

All they have on usb is the kb and mouse and printer, so it won't be taking much power. Sounds silly but my di novo used to play up when I had too many usb's plugged in.

Not a lot on usb, just my broadband modem on another inlet and the lx700 on another.I originally tried it in the ps2? normal ports but no different.Logitech claim only 6 ft is possible as recieved email from them re this yesterday.
Must add not saying anyone here is telling porkies just trying to achieve the same distance myself.
