Have recently moved house and the location of the SKy box is not best suited for the telephone line.

Not keen on installing a rather large extension socket, I wondered if there was a way to wirelessly connect to the phone system.

Wireless phones, and wifi technology are around - does anyone know of a way of doing this?

You can buy a telephone extender which passes the signal through the mains wiring. It's not fast enough for dialup or broadband (33 kbps max), but for a voice/fax/sky connection it should be fine. Not cheap though at £60. :(

Edited to say - just beaten to it!!!

Be careful as these do not work with all sky boxes. I had a panasonic which would not work with it, bought a newer panasonic box and it worked fine. I think it's Ok with soem Pace boxes as well. There is a thread on this forum here some where about this.
