Wireless Help

I have just bought a router so I can use my work laptop anywhere in the house ( I work from home) and have set it up no problem but the connection is unsecure.Not being great with computers can anyone give me an idiots guide to securing my connection.

Log into your router and setup wireless security, simple one to use is WEP, give it a password, go back to laptop find your router select WEP and it should ask you for the password you put in the router.
