Just got one of the above.

According to the manual, all I do is press the button on the 360 and the button on the headset to pair them up like you do with the joypads - which Ive done but nothing is working. The manual says that if you have a controller assigned to quadrant 1(I have) then the headset should pair up with Q1 but it isnt, its going for Q2 and I cant make it choose Q1 at all.
    Its charged but doesnt work!!!!!

    Any clues anyone?!

    Thx

    Nope but thx anyway!

Right, tried again and with no joypad on it does go to Q1 and it does work but as soon as I turn the joypad on the headset moves off of Q1 and is flashing between all channels and as soon as i press the button it jumps to Q2 again.

It seems to me that even when on Q2 it should still work?

Edit: OK.....tried my 2nd controller and it works ! I had read a review on Play.com where a guy was told by MS customer support that the wireless headsets dont work with the old controllers which sounds daft to me but seeing as one of my controllers is far older than my other one then maybe they have a point!

Yep, some of the older controllers seem to have a problem where they think a wired headset is plugged in, which overrides the wireless one.

I had a controller since day 1 & my wireless headset pairs up fine - at least it did until Sunday, it pairs with Q2.
Do you by anychance have a chatpad plugged into your controller? This was causing problems with mine. I had to plug a wired headset in, then pull it out. After this it paired fine.

Just spent about 45 mins fagging around with mine.

found the review on play.com, and switched controllers. works fine. found a piece on wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_360_Wireless_Headset#Issues) saying about the issues.

what a load of crap from microsoft! no warnings or anything issued. not a happy bunny!!!

I have to say i agree.Surely, legally they should warn that it is not compatible with all controllers? Failing that release an update to solve the problem as most people with release day consoles, that have not failed would have original controllers.

The way they're getting round it is saying that they are 'faulty' controllers, and replacing the controllers under warranty (which none of them are!!!) pretty scandalous if you ask me!
