Wireless External Hard-Drive

Active Member
Dear All,

You have helped me in the past and I am hoping your knowledge will help again:

I am moving into a flat which will have Virgin's super Hub (whatever that is??)

Anyway I want an external Hard-drive that I can stick in a corner some-where and wirelessly access, I am not bothered about names etc must be a min 500gb but have read about iomega storage and WD My Book live but very confused, can you make some recommendations and then I can keep out for what I need.

Does the hard-drive have to connect to the router? I was reading that some have to have their own IP address hence the confusion.

Thanks in advance.

I never realised these existed til I googled.

You can get a nas which will have an ip address. If you want to stream hi def movies, wireless won't be fast enough whether on a nas or wireless usb hard drive.
