I have got the game along Ape Escape though not played on either yet because I have just this miniute recieved the games. Ape Escape is the one I am looking forward to playing as it looks like a great laugh and I did not know they had table tennis and boxing in the game :).
Just a questioun do you people who have a PSP use the battery or mains? I ask this because I was wandering if it does it good recharging the battery every 4 hours, thought you might only be able to recharge it so many times.

When I was thinking about buying a PSP I was a bit dubious spending so much on a handheld but in the end I bought one because I wanted the latest gadget and show the thing off but I am really glad I bought one now. I have yet to play the thing in public though. I just like to play on the thing downstairs and spend time with parents rather than play on the pc or home consoles in my room all the time.

Hot Shots golf that is what I have got and the game is simple but addictive. I got my games from NUplayer and they arrived at about 1 so I would assume you will have yours at home as well because mine were shipped to me yesterday though you wont have NFS because I dont think they had it in stock yesterday did they?
I heard bad reviews on the game and as I have already got wipeout pure and Ridge Racers I didn't bother buying another driving game.

Only had a quick 3 miniute go on each game but ape escape looks like great fun, you start off with a thing that looks like a star wars wepon and you have to catch the monkeys lol.
wipeout the graphics are great but after a quick test the game does not seem as fast as Ridge Racers and controling the thing is quite hard though I read it takes 30 mins to get used to controlling the machine.

So you have US version of Hot Shots golf? if they did...damn...they didn't tell me...would liked to have bought that one.

i just heard that NFS doesn't have quite as good a frame rate as the other launch titles but i am quite hooked on racers....playing GT4 a lot too on pS2

Getting home around 9pm tonight but i guess the postman might not have been able to deliver (depending on size) so i might have to wait till tomorrow or saturday...

    Fingers crossed....

I just done two races and came third in both. I seem to be hitting the walls a lot as I am still getting used to the controlls but I am getting better.
The game seems slow after playing Ridge Racers but different teams have different speeds and once you have completed novice I guess it will get faster.

Think I will play Res evil 4 for a bit and play the game a bit later on.

Ordered my copy of WipeOut from lik-sang so should get it about monday (hopefully the same day my psp will arrive). does anyone know whether each person needs a copy of the game for multiplayer? On mario kart for GBA you could play multiplayer with one cart but only on about 4 tracks and you each needed a copy to play on all tracks. How does multiplayer work on PSP???

A few people have played extensively on another forums I'm on. Real big Wipeout fans.

They love it, and say it gets LOTS faster.

Looking forward to my copy, should Soon ever deliver!

Like I said I loved the first wipeout hope it does get faster and hope it does not take melong to get used to the handling. I dont think I will bother using the shoulder buttons.
I have been playing Ape Escape most of the night what a great game.

If the shoulder buttons are the air brakes, then I don't think you'll have a hope getting good without mastering these.

They sound key from everything I've read...

How about a mini Ape Escape review? ;)

I thought the top buttons were to make the ship tilt left and right and square is for brake.

Ape Escape is great fun. You have to go and capture so many monekyes on each level to go on to the net stage using your net though you will be chasing them on dry land and underwater and in the meantime have to evade Trex the dinosour and an eagle beacuse one of the crafty monkey decided to hise under her broken egg shells and the bird thinks you are after her babies.

You have to collect so many tokens or whatever they are :( one on each level to play the mini games. I would give the game a 7 and a half or 8. I think it is the best game I have behind ridge racers.

I'm just guessing. I seem to remember the original Wipeout had left and right airbrakes on the shoulder buttons, that I found quite tricky to master!

Thanks for the words on Ape Escape. Ack! More temptation...

Just started a tournament and I finished 3rd, 2nd and 7th. The game is slow but someone said earlier it gets faster. I dont use the air brakes I just take finger off accelerator when going round corners and half the weapon icons I dont know what they are but hopefully I will eventually.

Just got my copy of wipeout today. I ordered mine from ebay from a UK based seller and it arrived in 2 days!

The game is really good, i played a bit of wipeout xl on the ps2 and thought it was sh*te. This is closest to the original wipeout 2027 or whatever it was called on the pSX.

Check out the really really fast mode setting where you continously speed up until your shields empty and you get blown to pieces. Clever thinking - they stripped the levels of any texturing (and processor demanding gfx rendering), this enabled them to make the game run faster which equals insane speeds on the track. Looks quite futuristic too with shades of one colour dominating.

The normal levels are wicked as well, loads of jumps, theres one where there are no barriers on sides of track so you can just fall off! Music is wicked too, everything i was expecting from it.

I managed to finish the first 10 or so circuits with all golds on the easy setting, now moving up on harder levels.
I am expecting to see loads of downloadable content for this one, new tracks, cannot wait!

Got my copy of Wipeout today from DVDSOON. Not a happy bunny as I paid $39.99 (£17.44) and they have marked packet as £49.99 so i got stung by customs & royal mail.

Otherwise it is pretty impressive game so far.

    Bring on Gran Turismo Mobile.

You should be able to claim the vat and tax back as the item is under £18. Ring up the customs and excise people.

Received my PSP along with WipeoutPure today from ebay, so far well impressed although I'm doing alot of wall scraping, busywasting my weapons replenishing my shield ;) .
Out of curiosity, how do you guys use the analogue nub, with the ball of you thumb or the middle knuckle of your thumb? I can't seem to use the nub atall, maybe because I have big hands and long fingures but I find it too low to use in conjunction with the shoulder buttons.
Anybody else find this problem or does it just take muchos practice?
