I recently had to have my PC flattened due to a virus.

Now when I download any video clip from the net it is in about 6 colours and VERY blocky.

I think I need codecs - how do I sort out this problem?

Thanks.

You need graphics card drivers, or just to increase the number of colours.

Codecs work well, or not at all.

'increase number of colours'

get display properties up by right clicking desktop then properties. top right tab is settings, then drop down on right, change to 16, 24, or 32 bit....

Anyhoo, after a fresh install i always install the "k-lite codec pack". Comes with media player classic and plays everything!

Mine is set to the highest (32-bit).

Perhaps I need to find the driver for my graphics card. Or might try that K-Lite option.
