Windows Media Connect Help

Active Member
I've been trying to connect my 360 to my network but having no luck. Basically the setup is this:

2 PC's connected through a wireless network
360 connected to 1 through the ethernet cable.

Is it possible to share the internet connection for my 360 in this way?

When i try the Media connection wizard on my 360 it says the following:

Network Adapter: Wired
IP Address Confirmed
Computer: Failed

Im having trouble getting Windows Media Connect to detect the 360.

I have also Bridged the connections of the wireless network to the LAN.

Any ideas guys?

Forgot to mention im running windows xp with SP2

hi, i had the the same problem.

u have to

1. click start, then run

2. type services.msc, press enter or ok

3. scroll down to the 's' section and you should see SSDP Discovery Service.

4. double click on the item

5. click the 'start up type' listbox, and then click automatic, click the start(you will have to wait for it to start)

6. click apply, then ok

7. go to the u section, find universal plug an play device host

8. double click on the item

9. click start up type, listbox, and then click automatic

10. click the start button( you will have to wait again)

11.click apply, then ok

now you should be done. all you have to do now is, you should have a icon at the bottom right hand of the the screen, right click exit. now go on start, all progams windows media connect. they you go it worked for me:thumbsup:
