I've had my HP DV6 3140SA (Intel 2.53ghz processor, 4gb RAM) laptop for a few months now. Performance is pretty quick and in essance I don't have any issues. However when I bought it the windows performance indicator for the Graphics was 5.0 but after refreshing it it now reads 2.3. Is this normal? What can I do(or undo) to get it back to the 5 it was?

check for driver updates and not via windows update, goto the chipsets site
also check the amount of ram installed incase some has died, lots of laptops use onboard ram so less memory = less performance for the gfx
