Multiroom Media, a Smart Home and AV specialist from Marlow are giving one lucky winner £20,000 to spend on an AV System of their choice.

Hi Lee,
Yes, it is a paid entry draw. It does say on the competition page "GB, 18+, Purchase necessary" but I apologise, that it is down at the bottom of the page.

We'll provide any system the winner wants from a reference quality 2 channel HiFi, to a fully installed Home Cinema and the odds of winning will actually be pretty high.

Good luck if you enter

Ben

Ill pass on this.

Excludes Northern Ireland. [emoji19]

If you read the fine print you can get a free ticket if you buy 4 :) I'm such a sucker!

Couldn't enter as I don't do PayPal.
Hi Steve,
You can use a credit card through PayPal without being a member, there is a link at the bottom of the page you go through to. Otherwise there will be a card payment option added in the next couple of days.

This is rather misleading...

Is there a maximum number of tickets available (how many)?

There isn't a maximum available, but we're not expecting to sell huge numbers. We had a bit of money sat in our marketing budget that has acumalated because we haven't done any advertising for the last 2 years. We thought it would be much more fun to do this, rather than just booking ads in a magazine.

We want to give away as many prizes as we can and keep the odds of winning a prize as low as we can. As we sell more tickets we'll add extra prizes, one of these is already ordered from the supplier and will be announced in the next few days once it arrives.

If you win but don't get back to them in three days they give it to someone else. Watch those phones, junk mail folders, holiday bookings people :)

Thanks for pointing that out Gaseous, i'll ask the Editorial team to update it.

The actual requirement taken directly from our own T&C's is "This Promotion is only open to legal residents of Mainland Great Britain (excluding Scottish Isles) aged 18 or over, excluding employees of The Promoter, their families, agents or anyone else professionally connected with this Promotion"

That time limit was set by our legal advisors who specialise in running competitions. Don't worry, we'll do everything we can to reach the winner in those 3 days.

Seems weirdly short - even the national lottery give you six months :)

No offence intended.
Once 4000 tickets have been sold and the £20,000 is covered, and there is a very good chance this will be reached & exceeded. What will happen to the profit you make ?
Also not taking in to consideration the value might be £20,000, but the wholsale cost is far less.
I know it will sound wrong to some me bringing this up and i apologies if i am offending others, but i would hate to see this fantastic avforums slowly go this direction of having to pay to enter competitions.
On a lighter note it is good to see fantastic competitions being offered, just a shame we need to pay to enter.:(

less a competition and more a raffle - might be worth pointing out on the comp page that you have to pay £5 to enter
Seems like it ticks more of the lottery boxes than it does of a prize competition.

Hi Steve,
This competition won't have any effect on the regular comps avf run for members only.

It's a marketing exercise for us at Multiroom Media and not intended to generate profit directly from the competition (which I don't think we will).

There have been quite a few extra costs to us excluding the cost of the prize such as the lawyers to ensure its absolutely fair & compliant.

We will also be adding additional prizes through the month to provide even better value for those who enter. We have a great extra prize already on order and we'll announce it once it arrives.

I will wait for then, I refuse to use PayPal.

Hey Ben,

It seems as though the overall mood in this discussion has been quite negative, so I'd like to raise spirits up if I may. Thank you for presenting this opportunity. You don't hide the fact it's a business promotion, and you've applied all measures to ensure this is legal and fair.

I'll certainly be entering and already have grand ideas for the lounge, and possibly some upgrades for our multi-room music too. Thanks again, and here's hoping the winner posts lots of images of their solution being installed to inspire others.

:D
