I wish they would just tell you . . .
Anyone know whether Wilt is in WS or not?
If you do a search on Blockbusters website they have it there for sale. The DVD special features pop-up says the aspect ratio is 4:3.
I just checked my cassette and even in 1991 it was broadcast in WS.
Cheers for the pointer though.
It might be that there are two different versions around - fullscreen and widescreen, and assumes that the information on Blockbusters site is correct.
According to their site, City of God shows the language as being English but when I went up to rent it the other day, all the copies say 'English Subtitles', so there are errors on the site. Might be worth phoning the place your looking at getting it from and asking them to have a look on the back of the box to see if says.
I wouldn't really recommend 'Blockbuster' as a source of accurate film information.
imdb.com is worth checking; they are not always 100% though. For this film there was no technical info link there though.
They aren't the best as I found out with the language issue, but it was the only site I could find that actually had the aspect ratio shown. Items such as audio and aspect ratio can be a decider for a lot of people so it would be handy if it was shown. I suppose this assumes that the distributor puts it on the back of the box.
Fair point, however assuming their info is correct it is telling you the aspect ratio of the product they have, not what it should be; i.e.the original aspect ratio of the film.
