i'd like to think it would, some kinda new premium model, maybe with a big hard disk built and wireless networking built in too

with the PS3 offering it all outta the box surely its needs to happen to give a bit more longevity to the 360's life?

as an existing xbox 360 owner i'd still buy it

yeah probably will but I will feel ripped off when it all happens, should have included a bigger HDD as standard from start.

I actually believe Microsoft when they say they aren't going to do a new 360 with HD-DVD.

I think that if Microsoft really wanted to push HD-DVD for Movies and Not for games which they have said then they'll eventually do bundles with some money knocked off the External player.

Microsoft have said that they are already working on the next XBox due for relase in 2010, which is when i think they will have an internal HD player as by then i reckon the games will move onto HD-DVD discs

I don't see it happening with the 360. Microsoft learnt last time round not to Alienate current consumers, so i think they will stick by that.

It just seems everyone is expecting them to do the same just because SONY have done it and it shows how much SONY can shove any crap out there and people believe it

it will never happen

MS will work on cost cutting the existing 360 to a point that it will only cost them some pennies.

HD-dvd Drive is making them money right now so there is no point ias it will always make them money.

MS said they would never release games on HD-DVD but that does not stop them having a built in HD-DVD and still releasing games on DVD only as DVD's work in the HD-DVD drive..

They would need a faster drive though as the transfer rate is not upto the 360's dvd drive at present

When the PS3 hits the EU (March/April 2007) and the sales of the existing console start to slow, they will release a new unit probably in a different colour scheme but basically the same + HD-DVD and a bigger HDD and maybe native HDMI. This will be a premuim product and the existing console will drop by about 10%.

I am not speaking from any real knowledge, simply from experience of these markets over the years.

I don't believe it will as it will be contradicting M$' 'choice' bandwagon that they are currently pushing i.e. We are not forcing our customers into the next-gen disc players if they don't want to.

I personally think it it a better idea to have a separate drive for DVD/Movie playing as it is manufactured just for that - a simple 2x player (easily replaceable). Playing movies on the main drive unit as well as games just increases the wear & tear.

I honestly don't think you will see a HD-DVD drive in a M$ console until games need to utilize the format but at present, and I think in this generation of console, it will not be necessary.

The only way I can see them doing it is if the HD-DVD vs BluRay format war ends quickly with a HD-DVD victory - otherwise you will be waiting for the XBox720 or whatever they decide to call it...

wont happen there is no way MS will introduce another SKU

the new integrated hd-dvd until will either replace current SKU's or not at all

i really dont see the point as MS gain nothing from including a HD-DVD drive they want to sell games..

There is another problem I believe. The HD-DVD drive cannot play CD's or CD's containing MP3's so you would not be able to rip any to your new bigger Hard drive.

Maybe the next carnation of the xbox but certainly not the 360...

I must say (being in IT), that the XBOX360 and the HD add on is the best product that BILL and the KIDS have served up.

For Bill to release a NEW improved Xbox360 with HD built in and the much needed 0db disk drive, would get another £300 from me. I would give the existing kit to my son and I would have the new model. Lets face it, it could and should happen. Its all about choice and if you want to kep what you have, then keep it.lol

I will buy one and thats not because I can afford it, its because I want the best thats out there.

PS3 looks like a bread bin to me, so Im only buying in MArch to make money on EBAY. period. I have 4 machines booked and paid for, so........

Thanks Bill, bring me that DREAM MACHINE in March.

Yea.

Isn't there talk of a "super" drive that will work with all the formats HD, BR, CD, DVD etc ..... MS might stick one of these in the Xbox if they become available ..... ??

Yea, some factory in HongKong will come out with something.lol

You just know the Chinese modders will bring a machine out with dual lenses.

Official super drive will be good. Dont know why the DVD Forum have allowed all this to hapen in the first place. Why cant people just work together for a change?
