I am thinking of purchasing a Philips 962A or Q50 from hivizone for both NTSC & PAL progressive scan to a Panasonic PTAE100 projector.

I already have a sony DAV500 system. I am happy with the sound and I don`t really want to purchase a separate amp and speakers.

Will I be able to send the video ouput from the new DVD player to the Projector AND send the audio output to the DAV500 to deal with the sound ?

I know it is a bit clumsy but the sound is fine and the DAV500 was a present and I don`t really want to have to buy a new set of speakers and amp.

    Thanks

    Yep,

You should be able to use the component connections to connect to your (I am assuming your projector has component inputs here) Projector and use the digital audio output (probably optical) to connect to your dav-500.

    Easy!
