    Hi.

I currently own a 17-70mm Sigma lens for my 400D but may be interested in selling it for one of these. Would this be wise? It does have Optical Stabiliser.

I was looking at that sigma this morning but as it's new theres not really any user reviews of it yet. It will be a bit slow at 200mm

I've got the 17-70 like yourself and the canon 70-300is is next on my shopping list. it seems a great lens and has £33 cash back at the min so if you get it off kerso it's a little over £300

That seems like a good deal. I think thats going to be my next purchase then. I like the idea of IS.

The Canon 70-300 IS would complement your Sigma 17-70 really well, the IS will be more useful in the 70-300 range than the 18-200 range.

I bought the cheaper Sigma 70-300 APO, dont need telephoto often, so couldn't justify a more expensive 70-300 lens

The Sigma 70-300mm APO is an excellent lens for the money though. Read some great reviews on that lens. I'd like one but seem to get shakey hand quite often, even on the normal lens.

yeah its a great lens for £130, in goodlight it takes reasonably sharp images even at 300mm handheld, on overcast days it really needs a tripod when used above 150mm.
