I live in an 1890s house with solid stone walls. Whenever I try to drill into my walls using my B&D hammer drill it only goes in about 2 cm before giving up. I did a search on here and found that an SDS drill should cut through my wall no problem. Argos do one for £30 (here ) - does anyone know if this drill will do the job?

If it won't, does anyone know of a drill that will?

    Ta!

Mylo, I bought the Challenge SDS drill from Argos yesterday and used it in anger for the 1st time today. Is an amazing drill. Not quite "knife thru butter" but almost. Am a very happy man today, thanks for your help Mylo! Just one question, what do you use the chisels for?

chaos and mayhem  sorry, serious answer is for chasing out mortar and channelling walls and stuff or in my case shifting some old floor tiles and some dead concrete screed.
