    hi,
i want to buy a dvd recorder from england to use it in cyprus.
due to limited knowledge(i know very little about these stuff), i dont know if it will work. from what i've read, the problem is that in england they use PAL-I whereas in cyprus we use PAL G/H/B. i understand that the tuner of the recorder will not work. is this the case? i dont have a satellite. i have a decoder needed for a local tv station and through which i recieve the other free local stations. the decoder has SCART socket but it is not digital. i believe it is similar to england's old SKY(the analogue one).

if i connect the dvdr on the decoder will it work?

anything relevant appreciated. the simplest way to explain the better.
