Will I Lose My Gamerpoints/Settings With New Console?

Hi all,
I have an Xbox 360 Premium I've had for the past year now but I'm giving it to my brother as I'm picking up a new console tomorrow. Obviously though, I really don't want to lose my gamerpoints or my console/wireless router settings for Xbox Live.

Now, am I correct in saying that if I keep my existing hard drive and plug that into my new console everything will be ok and I won't have to mess about with any settings again?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

When I had mine replaced I kept my HD and when switched on had to reimput my gamertag and so on but all the gamerpoints and everything were fine.

Thanks. Did you have to enter all of the settings for your wireless network connection too?

It took my ages to get all of my router settings correct initially and would hope that I haven't got to do this again. :(

The other problem you will have is with XBLA titles that you have bought, they'll work fine on your account when you are online, but as soon as you go offline or sign in as another user, they appear as trials, apparently you need to contact MS customer support to organise something, something currently on my to do list :(

Anyone else know? If I lose my gamerpoints & all my network settings I'll :suicide:

You wont loose your gamerpoints as they are linked to your profile so as soon as you sign in up they will come but like others have said you may need to change some of the network options but it shouldnt be that hard.
