When importing from Australia? Not that I'm too worried if I do, as the prices were so low, and where else can you buy Prisoner: Cell Block H dvds? :) I'll just have a couple of tenners ready if I'm going to get billed by the postie.

You're allowed to import up to £18 per parcel outside of the EU. If it's more, then you're liable for customs charges.

Suppliers don't always write the correct amount on the envelopes though (e.g. ezydvd.com.au usually write a lower amount in my experience), but if it's a large parcel (e.g. a boxset), the chances of it being intercepted increase.

Yes. If it's something you really want, then you have no choice anyway!

If it's possible though, you could email them and ask them to split up the order (e.g. one or two DVDs per envelope) and then pay the extra postage. I have done this with ezydvd before who were very helpful about it :) Not sure if they'll be willing to split a box set though, but it's worth a shot eh? :D

You know the best thing about our dear old HMC&E? They even charge UK VAT on the foreign country's postage charge!

Squirrel God if you split the box set up how do they send the box? Squashed, or not at all.
Just nice to have them all in one unit. As I have Alien set in the box, which I would not like as separates. Also seen some good deals at Ezydvd on box sets.

Not exactly. You have to pay the taxes in the country of origin. There is nothing EXTRA to pay on arrival here.

Some of the boxes will undo so they can be folded flat. You can rebuild them when they arrive. It also means the boxes don't get crushed in transit :)
