Hi will i get much improvement over my current denon avr 1910 to yamaha v673?
i want to upgrade cause of the 3d tv i got.

but in terms of sound quality is it a downgrade? i mean the denon has better room correction over the yamaha?

please recommend what i should do and is this a correct derision im making.

bare in mind i have 350 quid budget and yamaha seemed perfect.

im pairing them with my monitor audio vectors by the way.

The receivers are basically the same level and although there will be slight differences in terms of how they sound, which is better sounding will be up to you and your preferences to decide upon.

THe RXV673 is a good AV receiver and I can't see you actually regretting replacing your AVR1910 with one?

Won't get much of a difference, but won't get a decrease in quality. Of the two I'd say the Yamaha is better (prefer the audio and more features etc), but don't expect much of a noticeable increase in quality.
For the money though, it's definitely the best AV amp you can buy new.

yeah thanks im only getting the yamaha so i can watch my 3d movies, as my denon doesnt have hdmi 1.4 and ive always read and heard good reviews for yamaha amp but never got to try it.

ive either had sony or older denon.

but too be honest i didnt like the sound in music in my denon even in pure direct mode maybe its my setting but the only way i enjoy music on this is from blu ray.

anything with dts or dts hd for music its perfect but for 2 channel flac its ok.

what about yamaha rx1800 ? is this better than the 2 models above? i know it doesnt do 3d but the sound must be worth it, i think its about 185 including delivery is this good?

are there any problems with older receivers compared to rx673?

You say you want to change due to 3D but then mention a receiver that is older than your current one. Your speakers and receiver are currently well matched going for a much better amp will give limited gains since your speakers will be the limiting factor. If you want 3D then get a new receiver otherwise just stick with what you have.

i want 3d but then i saw this add thinking a high end receiver will give better sound to my speakers and will overall give better experience than 3d video.

but if you say it wont be a big upgrade then i will go for the 673.

I'm going by memory here, so could be wrong, but I think the RX-V1800 needed a firmware update to pass 24fps video from blueray players. If you didn't get the f/w update, you needed a BR player that could force 24fps.
