Will I be classed as a new customer ?

My house is in the process of being sold and I will then move into rented accommodation but I do not have an address yet. I have been with Sky over 12 months and have given them 31 days notice that I wish to cancel. The guy I spoke to offered to do a home move for me and transfer my services within 90 days of my cancellation date. If I order Sky from my new address, will I be classed as a new customer and qualify for new customer deals or will I be flagged up as existing and not qualify ?

I am doing the same thing with my BT broadband and phone but I am in my first 12 months so they are going to charge me a cancellation charge but have also offered to transfer my services which would avoid the charges ?

Thanks if anyone can help

You are not a new customer. You have the same name and same bank account details. I don't have many good things to say about sky but one is that they are not always stupid.

What about this situation.

We have sky in my partners name and in her bank account details.

If she tells them she's moving, please cancel and when that 31 day period is over, i call and say i'm the new property owner and my bank account details. Will i be classed as a new customer?

As it's a partner presumably it's a different name so you are a new customer.

Yes it will be in the same name but I could use a different bank account. I thought I read you had not be a customer for a year to be a new customer. Not sure how true that is. I suppose all I can do is try. Both providers have said I can transfer the services over to my new property.

I am very confident that you will be fine using just a different bank account...
