Will a US amp work in England

Hi Guys,

I am looking to buy a top of the line Onkyo amp. Can anyone tell me if I can buy the amp in the US and use it in the UK. Will it be compatible with the difference in current (100 - 240V, 50/60HZ)?

Thanks for the help.

Having just had a look at the spec for the 875, it quotes 120V 60hz.
I don't know how much of a problem that would be, given our 50hz.

Most US stuff will only work with 110V.
It may well be switchable, but I doubt it.
Running it at 240V would blow it without a doubt, but you could run it via a step down transformer. It may well need a mains conditioner too.
Here's the sort of thing I'm talking about;

I'm not convinced it's worth the hassle, myself.
See I need equipment that can run on 220V which is the English voltage. I know some devices have a switch to change from 110V to 220V

HELP IS ALWAYS APPREICATED GUYS!!!

Why are you planning to buy from the US? If it's just to save some money, have you looked at buying from Europe?
