Answered Will a Non 4K Receiver be adequate?

I have just bought a OLED LG55B6 TV and an Oppo 205 UHD Blu-ray player. I intend to use my Yamaha RX A3010 receiver for disc playback and whilst the Yamaha is fantastic it doesn't pass 4K video.

Ill hook it all up at the weekend - just wondered if the 3010 will figure out whats going on and pass 1080p thru to the LG TV or will it brick wall?

Id rather not change the Yamaha at the mo if I don't have to , its great in all other ways.

(p.s I bought the Oppo partly as it has fantastic audio capability for 2 channel music)

If the player has two HDMI out then one will go direct to the TV. The second can then carry the audio to the receiver for HD sound.

IT does have 2 off HDMI out...so Ill try that, that would mean a cable visible that Inm trying to avoid, but thanks again.
