I am toying with the idea of getting rid of my laptop and PC and getting a MAC.

One worry is I have a 1TB NAS that I have files, photos, videos etc. backed up on. If I get a MAC will I be able to access the files.

The NAS is a Bufallo linkstation.

Grateful for any info before I make up my mind.

OSX Lion has issues with some nas hardware , for example on my own Readynas Duo I had to upgrade the firmware so that my new mac mini could access them.

This has something to do with Lion using a more secure form of AFP.

If your Linkstation does not have new firmware to work with Lion , then yes , you will have issues , but there are workarounds , see here ,
