Just a quick question...

Has anyone put a pre-order in yet with Shopto.net??

They have a release date now of 15th October What do you lot reckon are they reliable or is it just best to wait & see what the High Street are like for Pre-orders first??

I'm waiting to pre-order both the Wii and PS3 untill there is concrete info and Game start to take pre-orders...

I know many people slated them over the 360 launch but I would never buy my hardware from anywhere else. I just don't have the faith in online retailers to get me my console on launch day or the likes of Gamestation taking pre-order months before any solid information has been released.

Game will get my business based on the excellent way they handled my (two) faulty Lites. Would not like to buy hardware without the high street back-up tbh - the thought of having to wait on the post rather than swapping out a faulty unit straight away

Yeah forgot to mention that in my post...

I don't mind paying a little bit extra for expensive items by shopping on the high street simply for the easier returns.

totally agree. I get games online, but hardware ALWAYS in the high street. If it goes wrong and you have ordered online - it can turn into a nightmare..!!

I wish I could pre order from somewhere. My problem is that I dont want to get stuck with a UK console that under performs like previous nintendo Uk consoles. If they announce that the console is multi region and the UK console can do component progressive scan out of the box and I can buy a component cable on release day then I'll pre order a Uk console. But I think I will most likely end up buying a import Wii. My local import shop have been taking £100 deposits for the Wii for a few months now.
If I fancy a laugh I will be treking down to that shop on the japanese/american release of the PS3 to see how much they can fleece out of their customers, £800 anyone?

I thought Game do not allow hardware returns unless faulty?
That depends on the shop i bought a 360 wireless adapted only to get it home to find out that it does not work with my router. so took it back to game where i bought it and they said its hardware we cant give you a refund. So walked out the shop and walked 100yds to the other game shop n the town and told them the same thing and they said no problem how do you want the money refunded. so i think it depend on how strict the store is. needless to say the second game store was much busier that the first.

will also be preordering my wii from a game store as i do not trust an online retailer to get me my console on the day of release.

Game dont allow Hardware returns under their 10 day exchange policy, faulty units will be replaced but you wont be getting money back because the graphics arent as good as you thought or it's boring like you can with games.

Thanks as well for the advice guys, looks like I'll just have to learn to be patient & order as soon as I can with Game/Gamestation.

I think for alot of people it's gonna depend quite a bit on whether the Wii games are definatly region free or not. If they are region coded then I'll defo be opting for a US Wii as by nature the non-uk Nintendo games have nearly always been quite a bit cheaper.

Might sound funny, but as a little side note, I can't stand the PAL Nintendo DS game boxes, they're too chunky & so plain on the side. I nearly always opt for the US releases instead.

The Wii is to be released on 8th december 06
are taking pre-orders for the Nintendo Wii for only £9.99 here:

deposit... there's no limit to how many you can buy either (I bought 5 this morning)... ching ching ebay!!!

I can tell you what's wrong with that, your paying £10 extra for the console.

They already seem to know what there allocation is, when nintendo dont know.

Oh and I hope they don't sell out in this country so you have to sell the Wii's on ebay at £179, then I'll say ching ching :lesson:

Q: How much will it cost me in total?
A: £9.99 (Deposit) + £179.99 (Wii) + £5.99 (Delivery) = £195.97 in total
The Wii aint going to sell out, you must be off your head to pay £15 per machine extra for absolutely nothing you can walk into most stores now and preorder a Wii with a desposit which will be taken off the price of the console when you collect it.

Your a mug (or someone who works for that total scam of a site)

Does anyone know when Game will start their pre-orders for the Wii?

GAME told me that they would start pre orders as soon as Nintendo confirm how many they're getting, which is a stance I like seeing as everyone else just takes cash upfront with no promise of getting one on launch day...... Read the disclaimers kids!
