im just interested to know what the stars and points are for the nintendo store?
im also interested in how and where i go about buying some of the older games from teh store, the ones from the snes and gamecube etc

The stars are used to buy items from the Nintendo catalogue such as toys and special items Stars Catalogue - Nintendo but you can also use them to buy points. The points are what you use to buy the old Snes etc games you mentioned from the VC (Virtual Console) shop on the Wii channel Nintendo Points - Nintendo

Basically you can either buy points cards in a high street shop or on the Wii Shop channel online with your Wii. There are various amounts of points available and they cost various prices. If you have a look round the two links I provided you with, you should be able to find out more detailed information and learn how to go about the process.

You will need to get yourself an SD card though (or a SDHC/microSD) if you want to store lots of old games on there as the Wii's internal memory is very small.
