Shopto have 20 WII consoles, if you want one for christmas it must ship today! (i.e. you need to order before 5:30). The bundles are here:

    http://www.shopto.net/page.php?page=dettagli&codart=WIIBU04

They are european consoles but they come with a UK power adapter and are PAL and compatible with UK games.

They are priced at £299.99 including delivery.

Orders will be limited to one per customer, first come first served.

I hate forced bundles... if you check their wii stock without bundled games it's not available.

Seems a bit pricey for just the basic console + 2 games or am I missing something extra?

Oh look... they're "European" consoles too so they come with plug adapters. Explain to me why they're so expensive, Shopto? :p

We know the price is not usual retail that is because we paid full retail price abroad for them and have imported them ourselves, we did this as a favour for all the people who want one but don't want to pay £500 just for a console on Ebay. Don't forget our price also include VAT and delivery.

We are not making any more money from this than we would from the normal consoles.

Even though the site states RRP it seems over priced to me, I suppose it's cheaper than eBay if you want one before Christmas.

I've never actually dealt with Shopto myself but I've heard mixed reviews.

Heh this is them basically doing you a favour, if you don't want the pack then don't buy it.

Shops, as ever, expected to not try and make profits. :**)

Is there any official RRP pricing policy for products or can any company make up an RRP and claim to sell it at that price or less?

Shouldn't unluckypixie have "retailer" under the name?

Agree on the bundle thing, but this is great for someone that's just got to have one. Have to agree with Ratinho, if you don't want the pack, don't buy it - and given that it's the 21st and they're guaranteeing pre-Christmas delivery, then I'd say that's a pretty good service if you've got the money burning a hole in your pocket...

    Come off it!

I "imported" my console from amazon.de and it cost £175. You don't have to pay VAT on imported goods from the EU, it is paid in the source country, so the argument that it includes VAT is nonsense.

You make out that you are doing people a favour, but you are taking advantage of people.

the Wii hasn't been going for £500 on ebay for days. You can pick one up for under £300 now easy.

Shame on you for ripping people off. :suicide:

It would appear that you guys don't appreciate how difficult it was for us to obtain these consoles?! ... Do you think we shouldn't bother next time there is a shortage of something?

(p.s. one of the bundles has already sold out so someone wants them)

Oh, I meant to say that we stopped running the £3 off for first order campaign because too many people were just opening multiple accounts and trying to scam us :(

It will be difficult for anyone to obtain the consoles, why should they charge any different, its a full blown £40 extra on RRP. Its not doing a favour because if they didnt get them then some other company like GAME or Gamestation would have.

I must say that these are rather pricey! Using a £10 off voucher I got a Wii with Sports, Zelda, Rayman and Red Steel (I could choose the games from pretty much all games currently released) from Toys R Us last Saturday for £279.99. £300 for a game less and without the ability to actually choose the games is rather off IMO.

I'd expect this sort of thing from profiteers on ebay, but not a respected online site.

    Wii Console - £180
Splinter Cell Double Agent - £40
    Madden 07 - £40

    Total Price - £260

Total Price charged by Shopto - £300

Cost of european to UK power adaptor for the above argument to be true - £40.

Business I should be in - selling European to UK power adaptors.

Look, I have no problem with places like Shopto charging a hefty markup on equipment if they choose to do so. It's their business and their reputation and they can make whatever business decisions they wish. However, to pitch it as doing the public a favour (and by buying 20 consoles from Europe they have presumably removed the chance to buy said consoles at RRP from 20 people) and suggest that the Wii goes for £500 on Ebay is silly. More than that, it's unprofessional and that seems to be something we're seeing more and more of these days.

Want to make a profit? Fine. But be honest with yourselves and your customers rather than claiming you're doing this out of the goodness of your hearts.

if you dont like it dont buy it - no need to complain about it

also includes postage - which isnt free and there profit since they paid retail in the other country if they sold on for £175 then no profit is there!!!

for some paying £40 more is well worth it and getting there child there xmas present etc

£40 is nothing compared to the scum on ebay

We paid over £200 a console for them on top of that we have international next day shipping and then the shipping to the customer .... still unreasonable?

Where on earth did you get them at £200+ each considering Amazon.de was doing them at £175 (I think) and anyone marking them up was marking up a heck of a lot more than £25? Plus what you have to remember is that is the first time in this whole thread you've mentioned that (despite others saying about RRP being £180) so with the information available up until now it is more than fair to assume you got them at RRP in Europe. As for shipping, yes it's not cheap, but if you got them all from one source and in one shipment that would seriously cut down on the shipping cost per unit.

More to the point, if you'd actually read what I posted, I have no problem with you marking them up if you so choose. However you need to understand that, based on the information available to customers in both your on-line store and in this thread to date, it does indeed look like you're making a £40 profit on each unit it seems unprofessional to claim you're doing people a favour. That's my only issue here, if people wish to pay more than RRP for a grey import with an enforced bundle (of fairly mediocre games it has to be said) then that is their choice. I personally would not buy that package and that is my choice but it does not affect my original criticism.

I guess it's each to their own at the end of the day and it depends how desperate people are for one. I wouldn't personally pay over RRP for one but I guess it's what it's worth to the individual that matters.

I guess as people have said, it's not the worst price i've seen. Still, i'd shoot your buyer if £200 is the best he/she can source them for!

It says; 1st Class Registered delivery - Does this mean they'll be shipped via Special Delivery?

If so then it's actually not that bad a deal if you actually want the games which are part of the bundle.
