    Hi,

With summer on the way I have been trying to figure out how to get some sounds into my garden. Does anyone know of anyone who makes wi-fi garden speakers?

I'd just like to set them up in the garden and stream music over my wi-fi network.

I'm sure alot of people would like something similar, someone must be manufacturing these somewhere :)

    Cheers

I got me a Saitek A-250 wireless speaker system. Sound is great for the size, and the buttons on the unit can control winamp/media player, perfect for BBQ's in the garden !

After a bit more research maybe this ins't *exactly* what I want but a step in the right direction. I'm after a device similar to this, but with the ability to connect to windows media connect, or directly to the network, so I can set up a shared folder with my music in and browse through it on the device. This device doesn't seem to do that. In fact its quite difficult to understand exactly what its wireless capabilities are.

Anyone got any more cool devices they'd like to share?

    Cheers

I don't know of any media players that run on batteries. They all require mains power. I think this type of device would just be too expensive at the moment because of the demand on the batteries.

I think your best bet is to look at MP3 players and portable battery operated speakers. What about the Ipod Hi-fi with a 60GB Ipod.
