I have a Billion Bipac 7800n Router and want to use my free/basic router provided with my latest broadband package, a Zyxel AMG1202, to plug in upstairs and extend the range of my wifi network.
I tried it by amending the settings on the Zyxel (WAN - Mode = Bridge and Encapsulation = RFC1483). This set up then allowed me to use my iPad successfully on the new connection or switching back to my main Billion router. However, I then found that it somehow caused my iPhone and MacBook to be unable to connect to the internet regardless of which router they connected to. I just got a 'No DSL Connection' message. I had suspected that it would have been much trickier to set up but am confused as to why the iPad worked while the other two devices would not. Have I set this up incorrectly and would I just be better of buying a separate wifi extender plug such as those by Netgear or TP Link?
