Please help! Looking for all-in-one systm for husband for chrimbo - love the Pioneer NS-DV99 but would favour a recordable DVD and not sure if keen on the look of NS-DV either (WHITE !!). Do want SACD and/or DVD-A. Budget £500 'ish'. Have purchased all home cinema mags and done my research but would like and expert opinion as to 'purchasing a state-of-the-art' product that he will be dead chuffed with !!!! Many thanks.

Do not think you will get a recordable DVD all in one for your budget of £500 probably looking at £800 separates. The sugested Jamo is a fine system.

Thanks for the advice, the Jamo however doesn't appear to have SACD/DVD-A though, am I right in thinking this or does something special replace these features ?? Also, is the Pioneer NSDV99 still a serious contender then ??

Also Panny SCHT900 has advantage of 5 disc system but not recoradble, With panny E50 at £250 an amp and speakers for £400+ would be great but i think you should priortise.

You could go for a Panasonic E50 dvd recorder and a Digitheatre platinum from morgan computers but no sacd or dvd audio playback. That would set you back about £450 and wouldn't be a bad system. The Jamo option gives you much more flexible playback of video formats and the Pioneer gives you all the audio formats you want.
