Why ??

    Why is there all this jargon about dvdr's.
    Should you really have to start using your PC. Never had any of these problems with a vhs tape machine, just put the tape in and record.What a complicated product, dont have this problem with tv's, cars, etc etc.where's it going to end.I know, back to the vhs tape machine!!

    roland, no *need* to use a PC unless you want to add lots of bells & whistles to your DVD's, like choosing chapter points, adding background pictures to your menus and the like (Haven't got a PC so no idea what else they do in relation to DVD burning !!!)

    If all your after is a replacement for the old VHS to improve the quality of your recordings, DVDR will do it just fine....

    Only just got mine and have burned a grand total of ONE so far, just a movie from Sky, no fancy bits, just a blue menu screen with the movie on it - just like VHS :)

    Roland,

    PC just adds editing functionality to DVD-r in order to customise them. Cheaper and easier than going to a garage to customise your car!
