Hi folks and thanks for looking,
My Marantz 5000i runs out of battery pretty quickly because i use it for everything and when i put it on its docking station the little charging light comes on but it never FULLY recharges infact it only recharges at all when the battery is dead.
Am i missing something as in should i put it in a different mode to charge the battery or do i need to get the unit repaired?

I hope im not being a dumb 'un now but this really is driving me mad as i said above i have to let the thing go dead before i can recharge and as you owners know you cant use a lot of the features when the battery is low.

If any of you know how to help i would really appreciate it, thanks again,
    John.

Sounds like your battery might need replaced. How long have you had it?

I suggest using the charger ONLY when the thing is flashing that it needs charged. That's how I use my pronto and it's lasted 2 odd years so far.

What firmware version are you currently on?
Also I found with mine that it wouldn't charge at all, even from flat,if I didn't first remove and then re-insert the battery pack, then it was fine.

    had the same problem,

by searching remote central, the concensus seemed to be the poor contacts (two inner gold ones) on inside of battery holder. I cleaned them, and VERY GENTLY bent them outwards, slightly. I also read that it is very sensitive to how accurately the battery inserted (backside first, and doing it accurately).

Anyway - mine was fine after that. A 15 minute search, and a 2 minute fix!

Apparently one remote central user got the ok from Marantz to do this and said they would cover it under warranty if the contacts broke under bending 'cos they advised him to do it! So worth calling them if warranty still applies.
