The biggest DVD of the year and no-one has posted their opinion on it!?
My copy was waiting for me when I went home on Friday.
I couldn't belive the amount of supplemental material. About 70 mini-documentaries, 3 full length (30 min) ones, 8 trailers, 700 story boards, and the whole script!
Plus the DVD ROM content which I'm about to sample on my PC here at Cyberdyne Systems.

Watching myself get blown to bits is never very pleasant. Little did they know that I was the first Terminator prototype and when they blew me up, I walked out the back door! [IMG]
That's how I can still make postings on the forum.

Best DVD ever in my book.

Miles opined: "The biggest DVD of the year"

Come on Miles! The biggest DVD of the year is Jaws.

    No doubt. [IMG]

Never mind, I got the key to the secret cut of the movie myself, for anyone who wants to know, here it is.

Select the cut of the movie you want, then type "8,2,9,9,7" on the remote (pressing Enter after each number), symbolising Judgment Day Aug 29 1997. Both the Terminator's eyes will glow red and the text "The future is not set" appears.

We in the UK would never have thought to enter those "stupid" mm/dd/yy date formats they use in the US.

According to Play247's web site they have not started shipping yet.
I'm away for two weeks on Friday looking like a three week wait to see it for me. [IMG]

    Miles,

On 28th Aug, you said: "The biggest DVD of the year and no-one has posted their opinion on it!? My copy was waiting for me when I went home on Friday."

This would mean that you received a DVD that is not officially released until 29th August, on 26th August! Without meaning to sound like a dumbass, how can that be?

Have you got friends in high places, or is there something we all need to know about your "contacts" out there in DVD Land?!

    Jon.

I received my T2:UE on the 25th August, from Movietyme, maybe they
give preferential treatment to their better customers.

With regard to the code, those idiots at http://www.dvd-debate.com got
it wrong in their review. They actually stated the code was 82297,
    August 22nd 1997!?!

I posted the coreect code via the Forum, which Neil or however
promptly deleted.....probably to hide their embarrasment and
    stupidity.

Sorry, but T2 is probably my all time favourite movie.
Has anyone found out how to get the Extended Special edition with the extra 5 mins in addition to the Special Edition's 15 mins?

There's also the web link to the sectret T3 teaser site. Anyone know what the URL is.
I got the URL for the link on side 1, but it just took me to the artisan website. Does anyone have the URL for the link on side 2?

Newbie me didn't know about Movietyme. Still I suppose at £5 cheaper from Play247 I can wait.

I note that they state that you won't get hit with VAT or duty. Do they ship like DVDBoxoffice (container-load into UK, then first class uk post)?

    Cheers

Looks like they do do that mate. I find it's far better than getting it direct from the US. I had major bother with "Digital DVD World" shipping direct from US. They took 3 months and they still never showed up.
Now I only ever buy from Movietyme and their ultra-reliable, superior shipping method.

For Toffeecrisp, yes thanks for pointing out the error. Though you should note that this section was (as it says) given to us from Brian Wescombe. He posted the test as it appeared including the error to the Usenet groups. He was the first also to correct it once we realised the date was wrong. Given that this is the most extensive UK review of the disc I was somewhat disappointed that you mentioned "our stupidity and embarassment" when in fact we felt nothing of the sort but Brian felt alot.

As to the "deliberate deletion" of your comment we added a new record and deleted the old review including your comment. THe many forum notes still exist.

Yes, looks like I will cancell my order with Play247 and go with Movietyme. But having said that, I think £25 is a bit steep, considering plays was £17.99.

Rang Play today, they have no idea when they will be getting T2:UE, but when they do it WILL be the 2 disc version. I've already cancelled mine and gone to Movietyme. they have the dvd-18 in stock, so it's worth the extra 7 quid.
