I have noted over the years I've been a member of this group that Currys aren't a retailer of choice for those purchasing electrical products. To be honest I'm not a fan but is there a justifiable reason that they should be avoided?

    Justifiable?

You only need to justify it if you're avoiding them despite having reasons to buy there.

If you're not buying there because you prefer another shop then it's a straightforward choice, not justification needed.

I suspect the issue is not really purchasing from Currys, more the unqualified and incorrect advice that some people have received. If you know what you want and Currys have the best price with the right guarantees then do what you think is right.

Horrendous customer service, wrong advice and in many instances I've seen them repackage returned opened items as brand new and sell them to unsuspecting customers.

However as gwarde menioned, if you know what you want and the price is right etc... might be worth taking a punt.

To be fair, I bought a soundbar from the currys website and it turns out they got the specs wrong, so are giving me a full refund even though been using the soundbar for 2 weeks. No arguments, just sorted the collection and refund straight away.

As gwarde has said if you know what your after then why not... some staff are good some aren't... but they sometimes try to sell the newest thing although it may not be better than something else...or try to get you buying overpriced "monster" HDMI leads and added cover which you may not need..
