Why is your avatar female, when you are not?

My avatar is the character Xusia of Delos from the film "The sword and the sorcerer". Simple, straight forward, makes sense (to me anyway).

Why do lots of guys on this boards have avatars of women or of women's butts etc.

Is it a "externally manifesting your feminine side" kinda thing?

    ;)

Plus, I don't know whether it's right to fancy you :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Not sure I would want to have a male avatar. I thought avatars were to show something you had an interest in or like etc.

Hence why there are lots of lovely avatars of the female form. Not sure I would want to have an avatar of Brad Pitt or some other guy, would be a bit odd I think.

Unless Featherhall is also female, I suspect they may be barking up the wrong tree there.

    indeed!

In response to XoD, having been a long time 'interneter' and having started out in chat rooms, I do find opposite sex avatars a bit strange as I'm used to them (or, I was) representing somebodies perception of themselves.

Well an avatar does not have to be representation of the poster , in the case of chatrooms , of course it would be as the whole premise of a chatroom is to get to know people personally , whereas in forums based on specific topics , its all about opinions/knowledge.
In my case its a representation of what i like to see.
