    Okay,

I finally have my Sim2 Domino 20, first thing to say is OH MY GOD!!!! :smashin:   This projector is just amazing!

Took me a little while to get my Denon DVD-A1 working with Prog Scan (which I feel looks better than the on board Faroudja).

The question that I have is: the projector is 1024x576, however, when playing DVDs the resolution is shown as 720x576 using PAL R2 anamorphic discs, why is the resultion not 1024x576 as I thought this was supposed to be the 16:9 resolution as opposed to the 4:3 resolution of 1024x768?

    Thanks,

    Ian.

1024x576 is what a 16x9 PAL master (720x576) gets unsqueazed to when displayed correctly.

Not sure how the domino works but I assume if you input a 720x576 signal and tell it either manually or via a embedded signal flag it scales it appropriately to the 1024x576 panel.

A Pal signal resolution is always 720x576 regardless of whether its 4x3 16x9 letterboxed. The image size is a different issue: 1024x576 and 768x576 being the normal display sizes.

Your Domino 20 will upscale or downscale the incoming signal to match its native resolution ie.1024x576.
If you select aspect ratio no.5 Pixel to Pixel, the Domino will throughput the signal with no scaling. Your DVD image will not fill the screen.
If you had a source that was 1024x576 it would fill the screen completely using the PIxel to Pixel aspect setting.
