In all equipment i owned the S-video connection has always given me a much sharper picture than YUV or RGB.

In theory YUV and RGB should be way better.

Only thing i have noticed that YUV and RGB is better at is deeper colors due to it's wide bandwidth....

It is normally down to the input electronics in the dvices concerned. Things ARE MUCH better nowdays but not so long ao there were no component inputs and many tv converted RGB to svideo as his was what the chipsets used talked internally!! Things are better now but these things are still around. Nothing wrong with SVideo by the way, can be excellent

Well it's nothing wrong with my equipment, Panasonic TH-50PHD6EX and a Topfield sat receiver with YUV output.

I have always thought it was much more blurry with RGB or YUV, even tried with my old Pioneer DVD player on a standard Sony 32" CRT, S-video was much more vibrant on that setup as well.

Maybe the S-Video is artificially sharpened in the TV?
