Never had this problem before but the Sony amp keeps cutting out at reasonably low volumes and displays 'PROTECT' - its really irritating. I have to keep turning it off and on again??

    Can anyone advise??

    Many thanks,

    Neil

Most likely reason may be a conductor shorting at either the speaker end or the out put terminal end - it may even be a single stray wire touching the back of the amp.

Happened on my Sony. Dodgy speaker wire connections
    was the cause.
