Ordered The Arrival and thought I'd get Arrival II even though it gets bad reviews (it was as cheap as the single disc). Was hoping for a 2 disc set. Anyway it comes rattling in the box from the USA. Opens it up its looks and ats flipper. Lucky Arrival II is the down side.

Puts the main film in my Pioneer 565 and first problem its not anamorphic its 16:9 made for a 4:3 TV so I have to expand it:( . Then every 15 seconds the picture starts to judder and I loose the picture for about 5 second then it comes back on, only to go off again in 15 seconds repeatedly:mad: .
Thinking I can send it back for a refund or the single disc (no Arrival II) so I just try the disc in one of the very first DVD plays to come out and a cheapish one ahhhhhhhhh it plays fine.
Flip the disc over in the Pioneer for Arrival II plays perfect. Also it's in the exact format as side one.

On the box it says The Arrival : Widescreen. Arrival II 4:3 Widescreen. Why the hell is The Arrival not anamorphic?

Oh on the site it says for the disc which I take the first spec as The Arrival and the second Arrival II.
    Widescreen 1.85:1 Color
    Standard 1.33:1 Color

It's a VERY old DVD release, around the time of some anamorphic and some not (think original release of Starship Troopers and flippers in general).

Yes I have the flipper but why does the disc play OK on a one player (what some would consider a antiquated player), and not on an award winner will not.

I have that occasionally on my Denon 3910 and Pioneer 575. The Pioneer can handle anything, the Denon handles everything but occasionally one disc will stick, or not play. (It is rare though).
