    lol

JEW (nice anachronym) are a bit of a pop punk band aren't they. Although pop punk is beginning to become popular, it's mainly with people like Avril Lavigne and Busted who are just pop in disguise as punk, rather than actually punk who just play a slightly more pop orientated sound. (A) New Found Glory aren't that popular either, even though they've been around for years. It's not really a bother except it means they don't really bother touring here very often. My personal faves in this genre are American Hi-Fi who've never really had a sniff over here either.

It's a shame really, but it is quite good to get the kudos when you lend the CD out and try to spread the word (I love forcing music onto people don't you)...I've never had anyone say they are rubbish and most buy the CD for themselves... wouldn't compare them to Avril or Busted though...they are awful!

You can always use the same logic backwards. Why aren't british bands like Capdown and One Minute Silence who put a genuinely new and interesting spin on things more popular over there?

TBH, I've never thought Jimmy Eat World were that good. A few good tunes but by no means as good as some other simlar bands. Go and find about The Get Up Kids ;)

Definitely English although unfortunately they've broken up now. Also Pitchshifter although that's not quite in the same pop-punk direction! :)

Some young lads I know, who frrequent my local club are in a band (don't know the name)
They write their own songs, but can't afford to hire a studio to record them.
Somewhile ago they sent off one of their songs to this lot and they put it on their latest album.
The only problem was....as far as I know they received no credit for it..... or any Royalties.....so they still can't afford to hire a studio

I really liked their Bleed American album - not heard any of their other stuff though. Might try their new one.

We live and we learn  Their first album focuses more on the hip hop side than outright metal and is probably better if you like that sort of thing. More importantly perhaps, they were one of the best live bands I've ever seen and the pit was by far the most intense! Seconded only by Capdown who were supporting...

I wouldn't say they were pop punk in the same way as Busted or Avril Lavigne. Jimmy Eat World have an incredible edge to them, their Bleed American Album is one of my favourites of all time, really, energetic sometimes, always melodic yet often sombre and touching.

They are amazing!! Post Hardcore rather than pop punk.

Bleed American is their strongest album followed closely and equally by Clarity and their new one, in my opinion...for what it's worth anyway!!! Favourite tune...The Middle.
