I have seen alot of LED brands in the last few days while shopping for a 40″ LED HDTV
I finally decided that the samsung one is the best choice in both price and features
but, what I don't understand is why the cheap LEDs looks identical in external appearance, user interface and remote control unit
the only exception is the start up screen which display it's name
I am just curious. can anybody explain to me ?
thanks

Many manfacturers simply buy in their products and add their own badge - if two buy from the same source, then the only difference will be the name on the front.

As to why they do it - I guess it saves on R&D costs.

Mike - they don't even do that.
The manufacturer puts the badge on and changes the cardboard box, everything else is supply chain.
Grundig, Ferguson Alba etc. are just badges now.
