If you had been Peter Jackson writing and directing your own LOTR films, who would you have cast in it? Some of the casting in Jackson's films is immaculate: I can't imagine anyone doing a better job than Ian Holm, Cate Blanchett or Liv Tyler, and storming performances from Ian McKellan and Christopher Lee too.

    Some other suggestions:

Saruman: Tom Baker(with the "Saruman of many colours" line put back in) or Alan Rickman.
Theoden: Sean Connery (could also have been good as Gandalf).
    Denethor: Patrick Stewart.
    Eowyn: Jeri Ryan.
    Grima Wormtongue: Antony Sher.

English football fans could of been cast as the Orcs, just tell them some Germans are taking a precious ring to Mt Duberlin and you would have seen the most convincing Orcs ever, no make up needed.

Correct me if I'm wrong but out of the whole cast in FOTR there are only about 3 English actors (Ian Holm, Ian Mackellen and Sean Bean) so perhaps some more would have been nice. Pat Butcher as Galadriel would have been good or perhaps Dot Cotton as Arwen.

    Okay, I'll correct you! :D

Eh? What about Christopher Lee, he's English! Orlando Bloom, as well! Also Andy Serkis is!
I think you would find a great many more English actors in there as well. :D

Damn, I was correcting it, as I just noticed you said English, not British, sorry mate.:D
Hoped I could have changed it before you noticed. Hmm, I was unsuccessful.
You sure the Orcs were not football fans, they were pretty believable. :)

I always thought that Patrick Stewart would make a good Gandalf (not that there is anything wrong with Ian Mckellan).

Talking of football, what about Luke Chadwick as Gollum  :smashin:
