    Hi everyone,

After last night's 808s install I've/we've decided that it's far too big  for our liking.

I've decided to stick with my cine7, unlike the the 808 there doesn't seem to be an obvious way of fixing unistrut to it's underside, so as per the title, my question is:

Who supplies Cine 7 Ceiling Mounts at a reasonable cost? ;)

    Hi Godfather,

I've read your thread, the room looks the nuts!!! :D

Do you have any close up pics showing how and where the unistrut actually fixes to the projector. All I can see are two M6-M8 taped bolt holes about 6 inchs apart on either side and to the front of the underside of the case.

    Thanks ;)

    By the way James,

I've owned a 701, 708 and now the cine7 and the level of enjoyment to be had from each of these machines is pretty equal. :D

I would call your 701 more of a sane mans cine7 rather than a poor mans... for the money it can't be bettered.

Thanks James for all the info and ALL the detailed pictures.

My M5 bolts and penny washers have just turned up from one of our suppliers, the unistrut and threaded rod (also borrowed from work!!!!!!!) I've already got from the 808s install, it just needs cutting down, so according to your parts list I'm ready to 'rock and roll'

James, when you mounted your 701 did you use the lens program?

If so where on the projector did you measure to on the front and at the back.

I was marking out on the ceiling last night using the measurements given by the lens program and realised that front to back dimensions don't tally up.

    :lease: :lease:

Glad the photos where of some use, in answer to your question, No i didnt use the lens program as, if you set the unit up to that you will never use all the tube face of your projector. The lens programme i think was for installers to get a "rough" idea of where to situte the projector so as to get good overall focus, ie not going to the corners of the tube face.

If you make a slider assembly like me, maybe a bit neater you will have overall control of where to sitaute the projector while still using as much tube phosphor as possible.

The lens program will give you a rough estimate of where to put the projector, but to use all the phosphor you may want to move the unit 5 inc closer to the screen.

    Hope this helps

    James

    Hi Guys,

I’ve been further investigating the lens program and I’m now convinced that the measurements the program gives are absolutely correct and should be followed to by the millimeter.

I can’t remember where I read it, but the measurement from the face of the screen to the projector is in fact to the center line of the first set of M5 fixing bolts. This is sort of confirmed by James in his install.

The lens program indicates that the measurement is to the face of the casing but if that’s the case then the front to back dimension is way out . If you measure from the first M5 bolt to the back of the machine it reads 560mm which is spot on.

James, I think I’m right in saying that your 701 is correctly set up to the dimensions as formulated by the lens program, you my think the projector is sitting 5” forward but then you probably measured to the case and not the bolts which actually about 4 ½” - 5” further back. James can you confirm this?

My cine7 was bolted to the ceiling and roughly positioned on Saturday and then with the aid of a friend and his laser level Monday night was spent fine tuning and mounting the screen.

Echosat, I have enough unistrut, threaded rod and nuts and washers for another install, if you are ever find yourself in surrey feel free to call in for it.

I hope i'm not wrong and misleading anyone.

    surrey lad ;)
