I was just wondering if anyone knew who made the processing chips in Sony recievers?I know yamaha makes there own and Denon uses Sharc and Onkyo uses Motorola but wondering who makes Sony's?Oh i have the Sony STR-DB930.Thanks for any help..PEACE..

Sony make the decoding chips themselves for their budget and midrange products. I seem to remember that the high end kit, like the 777 amp and 9000 pre/power were driven by Analogue Devices SHARC chipsets. The same used in Denon's A10SE.

I believe McCain offer the superior product in their crinkle cut chips.

I believe you are all wrong, in-fact Sony uses the Mool-N-X processor chip-set.
