    Hi, first post here - but been trolling for a while now :)

    I was in PowerHouse the other day, looking at a Panasonic TH42PE50 and the sales man told me that the plasma unit was actually manufactured by Pioneer, is that actually true? Who actually makes the plasma units for each manufacturer? I know that Samsung makes Tiny's panel, I thought Panasonic made their own.

    Also, he was mentioning some stuff about the new G8 panasonic panel using cool gases instead of warmer gases and that it would last longer as a result. Is he just pulling my leg? I suspect he is :rolleyes:

    I like the look of the TH42PE50 (was gonna buy the PE30), does anybody know of a cheaper price than av-sales.co.uk? They can do this tv (with wall mount) and DMREH50 DVD recorder for £1933.13 + £183.21 = £2116.34?

    That's all for now ;)

    Panasonic Pioneer LG and Samsung all make their own screens

    Philips = LG
    Sony = Samsumg
    Fujitsu = Panasonic (VHA model 2003) or Samsung (VHA model 2004)

    How about NEC, Hitachi ?
