Well I don't know what to select! Can't you add the option 'I like the idea, but the buttons just look wrong'?

I like the new features such as longer battery life, removable battery but the design is a crap.

I said I love it. I think it is a bit excessive to say hate it to bits! I reckon it is quite cool, the design is ok but the features are ace! And FINALLY playlist support! Sony really are making an effort to beat all other contenders in this market.

The new features look great. The new Atrac AD can be the perfect balance between quality and space. Hope we can load it in our "old" HD1/HD3.....

Improved battery life, removable battery. Dedicated buttons 4 certain actions. General tweaks. However it it UGLY. Compared to HD3 anyway. Why Sony didn't keep same design as HD1/3 I don't know. Is it bigger than these 2? So need more space?

I'm undecided about the design, but you can't argue with the battery life, and yes, a removable battery is a big improvement. I still love my hd3 tho.

Come on it's look great, the only people that hate it, are those who just bought a HD3 and feel abit cheesed off!

I was going to get one but afew things put me off
    1) Lack of playlists
    2) Size of display
    3) Sonic Stage.
    4) Ropey VBR support

The HD5 seems to solve 1 and 2. SonicStage can only get better.
    Not sure about 4.

1st May I be first one in the queue!

I have and HD3, but i think while the HD5 looks alright, the buttons didnt need to stick out that much, i'm very happy with hd3 and no problems and the looks r classier. Theyve tried a bit too hard to make the design appeal to their target audience. But the specification are amazing on the HD5 - now that part make me feel a bit annoyed, but oh well.

You hit the nail on the head!!!

I am a HD3 owner!! i have it 2 months and it's out of date next month!!

Ok i'm annoyed1. Cos it's better than mine, but 2. the most annoying thing is the fact that it's not kept the same hd1/hd3 design. It just means that there is less chance of any accesories coming out for it. One of the main reasons for the ipod being such a high seller. Sony have to bring out a design and stick with it.

The introduction of the HD5 really makes me feel that there will not be the accessories i would like for HD3. :thumbsdow

Good point actually, i have the case now for it, but you're right. There are very few accesories designed just for the HD1/3 and this will take over these now, and will probably have crap loads of accesories. Or they will change their mind again and release another one of completely different deisgn

improved battery life could mean less audio quality.. I'm happy with my hd3 and plan on keeping for a long time.
