    I'll be going down the PCH road in a few months and intend to get as up to date on the process as well as learning any potential pitfalls so that when the time comes, I can just go "I'll have one of them please".

    Obviously there is Lings but I'm a little lost on who the other 'good' PCH providers are. Has anyone ever done it through a dealer directly?

    Yeah, thanks for the help :rolleyes:

    This thread was to gain personal experience of individual PCH/Lease providers, not exactly easy to obtain searching through the threads.
    Really? They seem competitive compared to a couple other places that I googled. That and they are a rare supplier that only asks for three payments upfront (I'm prepared to be proven wrong though).

    Just do the sums. I tend to find Lings more expensive as well and the website just plain irritating.

    Very interesting to hear. I'd never even heard of the sites you linked to in that other thread so it's good to get some variation.

    Lings is a good place to start for prices, and I don't mind the website at all.
    Never actually used her though.
    Came close, but she didn't have any cars left on the deal we wanted.
    She referred us to another lease company whose name escapes me for the moment.
    IIRC her website gives links to other lease companies.

    I remembered, the personal lease for my wife's car was the Tilsun Group.
    They were recommended by Ling when she couldn't provide a car.
    They matched the deal Ling was offering, which was very good at the time.
    For the fleet, we tend to use Arnold Clark.
    Not the cheapest, but the guys give us a very good service.

    I'm very tempted to get a 2014 Qashqai Tekna on lease as our next sensible car. I just cant be bothered with normal car finance and used cars anymore.

    Have my Kia Sportage on Lings. Is my first lease and she was doing the best price at the time.
    Obviously I don't have another provider I've used to compare with but the customer service and process couldn't have been better - I'm sure others in the trade could learn a few things

    The other thing I noticed when costing up was to ensure you compare apples with apples. Other sites seemed cheaper on first look but once you broke the deal down to term length and deposit costs its not often the case.

    and to save a few quid I can put up with the silly website - its not that much of an issue that I refuse to save money ;)

    Now that Marks and Spencer have withdrawn their 'car buyer plan', I think we might go back to PCH next time as well.
    Normal loan repayments for outright purchase are too expensive.

    Lings 'silly' website has taken her to being the 'go to' company for leasing.
    A lesson to any web design company, I think.

    Exactly. I've heard\had conversations along the lines of "I'm looking to lease a car" "Really, take a look at this mad website!"

    Its very clever

    It's not as if the silliness detracts from information, because it doesn't.

    This is a big factor in why I'm looking at the PCH route. As well as knowing that I'll always have a car that is within manufacturer warranty and never really having to worry about huge servicing costs on an older vehicle. I only do 7-8000 miles per year anyway so other than the usual (oil, filters etc) there should never be a need for brake pads and the like.

    To be honest the free advertising from the Dragon's Den is what truly catapulted her, and the missile launcher etc...I don't mind the fag calculator etc...But saying that you can find the information easily I find impossible to agree with...

    CAR_LEASING_CHEAP_LEASE_CARS_SALES_CAR_LEASING_CHEAP_BUSINESS_HIRE_DEALS.jpg

    And prices, perhaps it depends on the car...I've never found anything of interest cheaper there...

    Heck take a look at the Golf R....
    Lings - 3+23 @ £444.49 = £11,556.74
    Bluechilli - 6 + 23 @ £224.99 + VAT = £7,829.65

    That is a whopping £3,727.09 more expensive on a Golf R...

    Or lets take an Alfa Romeo Guillietta 1.6d Collezione
    Lings = 3+35 @£296.74 = £11,267.12
    Bluechilli = 3 + 35 @£196.99 + VAT = £8,982.74

    A whopping £2,284.38 difference over three years for a 1.6 diesel Alfa...

    Or, not to be accused of being a snob again, take a look at a Kia Sportage 1.7diesel 3...
    Lings - 3+35 @£286.60 = £10,890.80
    Bluechilli = 3+35 @£218.61 + VAT = £9,968.62

    Still a £922.80 difference...

    And that is just a quick look around and comparison against a single other site...There may be even better deals around ;)

    Yes crazy Ling, watch out for those dodgy 6+ high initial rentals companies....Hmmm I say, shop around and watch out for those crazy sites calling others dodgy whilst charging serious different amounts...

    Naturally one always has to do their sums and shop around, and it could always depend on what car people are interested in. However I've never ever seen her be cheapest in the market...

    Believe me, I'm far from patient with websites, it's taken me a long time to get used to the (IMO awful) redesign of this one.
    But her website is so easy!
    She has clear tabs saying 'business customer pricing' and 'personal customer pricing'
    Personal customer pricing includes VAT, which a lot of other websites don't.
    If you then click on 'personal customer pricing' it automatically displays her most popular deals, in price increasing order.
    If there's a specific car you need, you click down the left.

    I'm wondering where you got the Lings figures from, TBH (looking at the Golf R figures)
    The bluechilli figures are for business, so I've used Lings business figures too.
    So a proper comparison is as follows:

    Bluechilli = £ 224.99 on 6 + 23 = £ 6524.71
    Lings = £ 370.41 on 3 + 23 = £ 9630.66

    A big difference, yes, but there may be good reasons for that.
    Perhaps Blue Chilli have bought some cars in restricted colours/spec.
    It's also common (but naughty) practice for lease websites to use attractive 'banner' deals like this to get you calling, then they tell you all the cars have gone and can they give you something else!
    I'm not saying that's the case here, but it could be, as that is definitely cheap for a car like that.
    Nor have I ever said Lings are the cheapest (although they were when we used them).
    I've only ever said it is a good website to use as a beginning.

    I compared all prices like for like 10K miles, as you can see I've added the VAT to the comparison prices (easier calculation than removing VAT :)). Difference stays relatively the same with/without VAT.

    Lings website looks like a 60's wallpaper designer has been let loose following an LSD binge! And I'm sorry here face all over the website and amateurish comparisons of how much money you can save is an insult to those with some intelligence! Now if kids could lease motors, she is on a winner ;)

    To be fair. If she has the best deal, I'll live with the website and save some money. No problem with that.

    Unfortunately whenever I looked she never ever has been competitive.
