Exactly, even those who have a standalone player (from what i have read) say it is very good. I forgot to pre order mine but will wait as need new display. (got 5 dodgy vertical pixel lines) 4260 fukd up pixels:mad: , after 1hr warm up.
Will get one in nxt few months for sure.

Only reason i've not got 1 yet is i can't $%^&^ find one for love or money!

My brother is thinking also of getting one but he has an upscaler just now and is prepared to hold back a few months to see how the HD vs Blueray debacle is going to pan out.

Hopefully come the New Year i'll get me hands on one and see if all the hype is justified :)

I'll get the HD-DVD drive when I get a projector - until then I'm really not fussed, SD dvd's still look good to me and I can get 3 of them for the price of on HD DVD.

I'm not - can justify the price of the drive, but not the price of the discs - plus I've got Sky HD. I'd be interested if anyone who has the drive and Sky could do a comparison? I expect that Sky would be inferior but I wonder how much by?
